Plenty of jobs that can debuff? Well? Bard and Rdm, are the only ones with dispel. Dispellers have a key role in higher level parties.

There are tons they might learn too many to list.

It's too early to tell, but I don't see any real support roll yet, though I guess it will all depend on what abilities they get. Perhaps it will be the first true melee/caster hybrid? It'll be the opposite of Red Mage, which is a healing debuffer, and will be a damage debuffer. Though, honestly, unless the debuffs are uber, I just don't see anyone wanting a gimped damage job with debuffing. There's already plenty of jobs that can debuff already. It'll be interesting to see how blue mage will fit in along with them. However, if the debuffs are uber, I can see Blue Mage taking a bard-like position.

And, obviously, since the Blue Mage learns abilities from enemies, can you think of any that they might learn other than the two shown in the screenshots?

My guess is that they will be something a kin to red mage. Potential melee but mostly for debuffing and support.

I'm actually curious as to what role a Blue Mage will be in a party. Thus far, it seems to be for damage and possibly debuffs, but that would be nothing new, so I'm curious to learn what abilities they can learn as well as what other non-blue magic abilities they might get. I'm also interested in how they will actually go about obtaining and casting blue magic.

Try as I might to get the images and text to work together, I just couldn't do it. I did host the images to see if that makes it faster, but I had to move the text descriptions to the top. Sorry.

Yeah, I was afraid of that. My firefox auto-resizes them. I will wait for Ethic to fix it.

BTW, it appears your screenshots screw with the format of the page. I'm getting a huge vertical gray bar to the left. Perhaps it's something on my end. Might want to link them if it's doing that to everyone.

Haha, no the welcome back deal is over. But I would anticipate it to make a come back when the new expansion is released.

The problem with gil in FFXI is that if you dont have a plan its very hard to make, but if you have a plan and do a little crafting you can make a ton.
