It's not that sex equals depravity. It's that someone thought about how touchy sex is with some people, and went to the effort of creating winged penis bombs. That's depraved.

Hey hey, it was not just Puritans. There were also criminals and profiteers. That explains the rest of the country.

>I do find it interesting that sex equals depravity, but most other games you are slaughtering people and things left and right. Personally i can’t stand second life, i found it boring and kind of pointless, but i do find it strange that sex is bad and violence is good.

It's an American thing. Remember, the first colonizers here were Puritans, which basically explains everything. Europeans are kinda mirror opposites.

My problem with 2d life was that the only thing I could really find to do there was play slot machines, since I had no artistic ability and couldn't get the hang of prims. And well, I'm not a gambler. (I was pretty amazed at how frequent the things were---every street corner and building, I swear!)

Come on, guys. Didn't you hear? Second Life just got better:

Gives a whole new meaning to the missionary, it does.

I think that last statement is a bit strong. "No consequences" might be closer: one of the reason we have many of our real-world standards is that Bad Things happen if you do certain things. None of that happens in Second Life, so the main laws they are away from are the laws of physics (and related biology). Given the lack of such other outlets in the world, I can understand why more unusual impulses might be indulged there. I hesitate to call others' sexual preferences depraved, even if they are biologically unlikely.

Yeah this game was interesting. I like what the MOG (http://www.mogarmy.net) guys did in that game. They intentionally went and harassed strippers and pretty much reviewed the game as "electronic sin city" which is a shame because I am sure the developers never thought it would get that bad.

Then again, give humans any tool where they can build their own world with no laws and get away with it and I am sure we will always seek to the lowest depths of depravity.
