Don't want to make bricks? Don't make bricks.
Don't want to grow flax? Don't grow flax.

The true beauty of crafting in ATitD is that if you don't like something, don't do it. Make something you like to make and trade for what you need.

Don't like making anything? Explore and collect herbs. Go fishing. Dig up stone. Start up a delivery service.

Also of note, the leveling system is reported to be less onerous, and some of the initiation requirements have been streamlined.

I can't wait for next weekend. See you in Egypt!

Levels still in? Insane amounts of brick. straw, clay, and whatever else grinding still in? Players still little more than lab rats for whatever Teppy fancies finding out about? No thanks.

/bitter ex-ATITD (original) player.

(On a fairer note, ATITD has some really, really great things going for it too. There was just one too many straw that broke this camel's back. ;) )
