International Characters Are Your Friends

From our annual New Year’s LAN party, I am reminded of my guildmate from Mexico. The phrase you want is “Prospero Año Nuevo.” “Feliz Navidad y prospero ano nuevo” is wrong unless the person in question received a Christmas colostomy.

  1. I’m a Thai girl living in Spain, so I’ll add my two greetings to yours, and wish you a very happy new year. :)

    ¡Feliz año nuevo!

    and

Sawasdee bpee mai! (literally ‘welcome year new’ — you can see that the Thai language follows the tradition of putting the adjective after the noun too, hehe)

  2. Eh, I messed up my translation of ‘Sawasdee’ — it’s actually the Thai word for Hello. I must have my mind addled from all the Baileys shots I’d been having. Hehe.
