I'd guess the best weapon in the game issue has been solved. It'd be on the player in WoW who got a dev item that kills everything in a 30 foot radius.

Honestly, I really like the legendary weapon system. I truely think it's a great system. It's far superior to character differentation that happens just because of super-rare drops. I love that I can have a staff which specializes in giving me really high range on my attacks, yet also have a staff which specializes in maxing out my tactical DPS.

That being said, I listen to kin-mates complaining about the system daily, so there are a few things I would change. I would tweak the system to allow supreme weapon crafters to change one of the legacies from one thing to another. That way, crafters could be involved, and the selection of legacies would have a component of strategy to it, instead of just luck of the draw.

“In the old days of Lotro, you would run Helegrod every week. You might have to run it 300 times to get the best bow in the game, but it was worth it. This new Legendary Weapon system is just a grind.”

Hee hee

Some would think running the same dungeon or whatever 300 times could be called a grind. Nice. Sounds like they took the grind and made it into some other sort of grind. :)

"Good ole days" LOL

The game is barely 2 years old. Please.

When I talk about good ole days in EQ1 at least I am going back over 5 years. It is funny now how if you stick with an MMO for 6 months you are considered an old timer due to the populations short attention span with anything other than WoW.

Agree with this:

"But for the newbies, the new is better. The new is better, and old way is out-dated."

Which is not to say that the Legendary Item system is good. It is interesting for the first few LIs. Going through 300+ to get a good one is not. Conveniently, an incoming expansion can make the current system moot, and you can test whether anyone currently enthusiastic about the LI system (such people presumably exist) thinks the new grind is horrid.
