  I must be a complete noob, I can’t place any of them.

  My best guesses are:
  “off-hand fish” – WoW, I seem to recall there being a wieldable fish in that game.

  “butterxxxx” – no idea. At wild guess Audacity.

  “pee on me” – TF2 a reference to Jarate perhaps?

  #2 seems to be a reference to Tower Defense, Defense of the Ancients or rhythm games.

  Spring Festival in LOTRO award a fish for slapping. It has a much cooler emote animation that the regular slap emote, a large slimy fish in hand.

  Let’s just say that the subject of Jarate and it’s merits as a functional game mechanic came up in a discussion at work the other day. There was someone in that room that felt very (and I mean very) out of touch.
