So there was this event, right? And apparently you have to get into this yellow circle to get into the event, so this Sylvari was trying to reach this circle but couldn’t catch it since it was moving. It’s became sort of an event on it’s own, just to reach this bleeding circle but it was futile.
After quite a few minutes of chasing Sylvari met some other adventurers trying to get inside the event zone. They decided to run together just for fun, since it wasn’t helping in any practical way.
There was this funny little Asura, who happened to be a Warrior which made everyone laugh since he was nearly half as big as Charr Mesmer’s longsword. On the other hand this Mesmer was quite rubbish, because when they asked him to speed them up magically he just growled and said something about “fancy magic for sissies” and that “real Charr makes only dangerous magic” which made everyone wonder why on Earth would he choose to be a Mesmer in the first place.
There was also Norn Necromancer who hated undead and was repeating this statement every two minutes which made even less sense than the previous two guys. Fortunately he was quite alright with curses. Those magic ones, I mean. Not that it could help in this situation, but it still was reassuring. Eventually they will catch up with the event and every skill could be useful.
Last, but not least there was this human thief. Well, he was with them only for a minute, nicked all the gold from Charr’s pocket and disappeared. Never trust humans, I think that’s the lesson from this.
After long and tiring run they finally did it. They got inside the event, ready to use their unique, however peculiar, skills for the good of the team. To fight evil and chaos. To make sure that Tyria becomes a slightly better place after this complteing this task.
So there was a road ahead of them and event description said “check what’s on the other side”.
So the Sylvari crossed the road.

It’s a trick question i say! The Sylvari would never cross a road. Roads are a synthetic man made product made from bitumen – a series of Hydrocarbons extracted from crude oil. The Sylvari are the Tree Lovers of Tyria and their dictionaries don’t consist of the word “road” ! If they were to ever cross a “road” – it would be to simply spread some quick growing seeds over the surface of the road! Thank you. :)

Because this particular Sylvari had spent too many hours dwelling upon the meaning of life. The more he thought about it, the more apparent it became to him that there was no meaning, life and all existence was pointless, just a series of random occurrences with no rhyme or orchestration. This greatly depressed the sylvari, knowing that everything he did was for nothing, it turned him into a solem and solitary creature, opposed to the joyful fellow that he once was. After a few months of feeling this way our sylvari friend realised something, a glorious epiphany, he came to the realization that the meaninglessness of life, these disjointed events, they were the answer he was looking for the whole time. He saw that it’s down to the individual to add meaning to their lives, not gods or fate, he became obsessed with grabbing every opportunity presented to him, he became erratic and spontaneous, so when he saw the road, he had to cross it, to see what lay on the other side or to see whether he’d even make it across at all.

It could be that the said sylvari was simply curious as to was on the opposing side of the route he/she was standing on. In that case the sylvari may have seen some kind of wondrous object and gone to investigate. However, he/she may also be escaping some terrible monstrosity conjured up by one of the many evils that dwells within the land of Tyria. There is a chance that an elder dragon has flown down into the general area that this sylvari was lounging in, which would most likely cause a response along the lines of running in the opposite direction, and just happening to have crossed the road. There are many more reasons as to why he/she may have crossed the road, but there are far to many to go into much more detail. So for now I say adieu, and wish you success in your quest to find the reason as to why the sylvari crossed the path upon which travel occurs.

There are many reasons a sylvari might cross a road. On the other side of the road was the unknown and the unknowable, the scent of adventure, the road less traveled. On the other side of the road was the wide-open spaces, the lure of magic and lore and gold, of friendship and cities and everything that the Dream had promised!
Also, on this side of the road a very angry Charr with a very large sword was threatening to chop the sylvari’s leafy head off due to an unfortunate slip of the tongue regarding the loveliness of said Charr’s mate.

I’ll tell you why. It was a late spring night during the Krytanian era. First born Adria Spineleaf was taking her daily moonlight walk in the outskirts of the Eversong forest. While thinking about super sweet adventures she noticed something bright in the far distance, as she moved closer to the brightness she soon realized that this brigthness was fire! And it was moving towards her in great speed!

Once upon a time, there was a curious sylvari who took the road to discover the world far and away from the old Tree that gave him life. Yeah well, this sylvari was pretty much like any other sylvari, I grant you that. They all want to discover and experience the world. And as for taking the road, well, that’s only an expression since the native land of this sylvari is more about forest and giant ferns and glowing flowers.
Anyway, he chose a direction to follow – well, he actually started by stalking this pretty she-sylvari but he lost her after she took a turn behind a crooked elm, so he just went on – until he found himself on the side of a road. There was a big flat rock right there and the sylvari thought it was a good time to stop for a while and have a little meditation – although most of you would think that the side of the road is definitely not the best place to meditate… well who said he was a particularly clever sylvari?
After a while he stood up and stretched, evaluated the situation and crossed the road.
