Our friend Zach Best died on Monday. He was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer last February and entered hospice care earlier this year. He was 36 years old. He is survived by a wife and two daughters. “In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Child’s Play.”

Condolences for his family and friends. I discovered the blogging world from his post on kill ten rats. I loved both his positivity and his cunning reflection on gameplay.
I have missed – and will miss – reading him. Which of course pales in any sort of thought of what his close friends and family must be going through. Amazing how lives can be touched through different places in different ways. A sad day indeed.

I’m so sorry to hear this. I’ve always enjoyed reading his posts. He will be sorely missed by many. Deepest condolences.
I knew how ill he was but this still comes as a shock, not least because of how very young he was. Ravious’s enthusiastic coverage really sold me on GW2 before launch, a game that has given myself and my wife five great years of entertainment. I thank him for that as well as for the pleasure his writing always afforded. Heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.

My lasting memory of the guy was his always positive but also realistic view of GW2, and how much passion he put behind his posts about that game. Even though GW2 wasn’t the game for me, I always enjoyed reading his posts about it, which says so much about the author.

This is so sad. … Ravious was one of my digital heroes. I dont understand much of gaming. He was my enlightenent, the sharp knife dissecting the gaming world. <3
