Wish Me Luck

EVE[EVE Online] I just applied for a position that CCP is advertising for on their jobs page. What fun would that be? I would think, lots. I have a lot of respect for the company and the position pretty much describes me and my skills. It would require a pretty major relocation but I’m perfectly willing to do that (and so is my family).

So send some good vibes towards Reykjavik, Iceland for me. I know it’s a long shot, but thanks!

I own this little MMO gaming blog but I hardly ever write on it any more. I'm more of a bloglord or something. Thankfully I have several minions to keep things rolling along.

  1. I once applied at CCP. They didn’t need anyone like me, which was good, because my wife refused to move there.

  2. You would have been a good addition to EVE Online, Stormwaltz. Hell, you would be a good addition to any game, to be honest.

  3. Indeed.
And good luck, Ethic. I’m glad the family is willing to go along. There are lots of interesting job opportunities that would involve dragging one’s life across a continent or two, which tends to make a lot of them less attractive. Good thing Iceland works for you. (And if you get in, hook me up and I’ll go back to playing EVE. :p)

  4. I feel I should add that all our contributors’ e-mail addresses are conveniently on the right-hand side of your screen for any recruiting game developers. :)

  5. Indeed, hope it goes well.

While I’ve not always been a massive fanboy for EVE itself, I do have a lot of respect for CCP; they always seem so open and frank in their dealings with their players, which is refreshing. I’m not quite sure which position on that page you’re going for, but I’m sure you’d do well in any of them.

  6. It’s the SysAdmin one. Like I said, I’m sure it’s a very long shot but this is the first time I’ve seen a job opening at a game company that I know I could do, so I have to at least try. Thanks for all the good wishes, we’ll see if they reply.
