Guild Leadership Metaphor

I am in an abusive relationship with my cat. That he contributes nothing to the household except his presence is a given. He wants to be left alone to do his own thing for most of the day. When he wants attention, though, he wants it now and he wants it on his terms, or he will crap on the floor. He wants attention at odd hours, usually when I would prefer to be sleeping.

Given the chance, he will gorge himself to the point of vomiting. I get to clean that up too.

  1. This is so spot-on, I’m surprised the connection has never been made before.

  2. You forgot the Hairballs of Drama that get regurgitated just when you were thinking how nice it was that there hadn’t been a catmergency for 3 or 4 days. ;)

  3. Zubon – it is so unlike you to make such a big spelling mistake! I know you meant LEADER = MEMBER. In that case it is entirely accurate and super funny!

Unless of course you aren’t making a sweeping generalization but instead referring to a personal experience in your own guild of which you are a member. In that case, a better metaphor would be joining the NRA then being completely astonished to find out people in that group like guns.

  4. I want to say something, but drawing out the allegory or even saying what I think could need clarification could ruin it.

  5. Granted Z I could have misread it. Trying to look at it from different angles besides the most obvious one – I definitely don’t want to ruin your masterpiece. :)

  6. Have you stolen my cat? I swear, even if I go out of my way to make him happy ahead of time, he still starts crying for attention.
