Today marks the one-year anniversary of the full launch (in the US) of Age of Conan. It did technically launch a few days earlier for some but let’s not pick nits.
They are giving things away in game, like fireworks and extra character slots. Congratulations, Funcom!
It’s definitely been an interesting year, full of challenges and adventure, and we are really looking forward to the coming year as well. So the toast at the King’s Table is to the year that has passed and in anticipation of the year that is to come!

anticipation of the year (not years) to come.
Oh look…first post is by a “Doom” poster.
I wonder if this same poster is one of the ones who called the game dead last year, or in January, February, March…etc…
I do not expect much from the game in the “success” field, but I also do not expect it to close anytime soon thanks to Norways financial sector and the way it deals with companies..
But, anyways, on that whole year thing? Talk about a crappy gift for those who stuck it out..
Blah!
I was just expecting to read years and was kind of thrown off when it said year instead.
I have an unopened Collector’s Edition if anyone is interested or needs a doorstop/paperweight…
It’s funny, but I still look back on my time playing Age of Conan as the most fun I’ve had playing an MMO. Sadly, as with most MMOs, the fun just didn’t last.
I’d still be more likely to play it before Warhammer or WoW though… although that isn’t saying much since it’s not very likely I’d go back to playing any of them.
I have to say, I’ve just spent a month back in AoC, and the game is extremely polished. The game was always very playable at launch, but was plagued by bugs and content gaps. It seems like Funcom have done a great job at fixing all those issues up, so kudos to them!
I decided not to resubscribe at the moment because LotRO Book 8 is on the horizon, but I’ll certainly consider going back in future.
Glad to see AoC made it a year, had my doubts for awhile. I may need to resub and check it out again.
