Suing Blizzard is fast becoming a massively multiplayer pastime in China.
Numerous sources reported earlier this week that the parents of a boy who leaped from a 24-story building are filing suit against Blizzard in relation to the young man’s supposed addiction to World of Warcraft.

In the next version update, major changes are scheduled for the dragoon two-hour ability.
The development team does not consider the dragoon to be particularly weak when compared to other jobs, but we are aware that a large part of a dragoon’s strength depends on the presence of his or her wyvern. After taking into account the wyvern’s tendency to be quickly defeated in heated battles, and the dragoon’s lack of a powerful special ability for use in missions and other critical situations, it was decided that improvements were necessary.
[Star Trek Online] I havent been following the development of Star Trek Online for a while since new information was slow in coming. Anyways, I check it out today and find that they have redesigned their website. There are 2 concept pictures and a Shockwave Flash animation of what appears to be the engineering element of the game.
A year ago, World of Warcraft and EverQuest II were coming out, eagerly anticipated titles set to knock the current champions off their thrones. People were saying, “City of Heroes is just something I’m playing until World of Warcraft comes out.” Before that, guilds might have signed up for Asheron’s Call to practice until Shadowbane came out. Message boards for years said, “Wait until X is out, then I’m out of here!”
[EVE Online] EVE Online has this print magazine you can subscribe to, called EON. In the first issue, they offered advertising to the various corporations in-game. It was a new way to try to expand your corp. Understand, this is a real magazine – delivered to your home.
The devs just announced that they will be selling ad space in the future issues. But get this, it will cost you ISK (the in-game currency of EVE). In fact, it appears to cost you 200 million ISK to place an ad. Now that is a bit of a twist, right?
[World of Warcraft] Despite all the work I’ve had for the past three weeks (not to mention the work I still have), my brother not wanting to play WoW very much, plus the fact that my college’s internet has been booting me from WoW approximately once every 15-30 minutes for the past three days, I’ve managed to squeeze in some playtime. However, rather than spending all my time on my mage, I’ve created my first official alt, a Tauren hunter.
There’s a couple of things I’ve learned from playing my mage.. Firstly, being a mage isn’t nearly as fun as it used to be. I’m still going to try and hold out until I get into my 50’s and respec to the frost tree, but I’m very bored with it as it is right now. It just has no flare to it anymore. Secondly, I hate being Alliance. It’s not just the looks. I’ve heard people say Blizzard prefers Alliance more than Horde, but after playing both, I’d personally argue against that, but I don’t feel like getting into that discussion because the real answer is that Blizzard doesn’t prefer either, or at least I hope that’s true.
[City of Villains] I am finding City of Villains to be quite a bit more fun than City of Heroes and I wanted to get a grasp on some of the possible reasons why. So I listed out some things I liked to see where it leads me.
1. New game: This one is simple; it is a new game and that brings all that is associated with it. Most every MMO seems fun during the learning phase. New shiny and all that.
2. Interesting settings: By this I mean the look and feel of the surroundings. While much of them are destroyed, the cities are filled with variety. Slums, docks, rubble, grafitti, etc. Haven’t really seen anything like it before.
About three weeks back, I got accepted into the beta of a highly anticipated MMO. I cannot disclose the name due to non-disclosure shit, but I was excited.
I love betas because it is really your chance to get into a game, try out everything and make a difference in the development path. This interest however is only viable when you can actually PLAY the game. I have not been able to play this game once because it will not work on my 6800 card. It also is not working on any other 6800’s apparently.
[City of Villains] Since I was complaining about City of Villains problems last week, I thought I should mention that I am having fun. Ultimately, that is the standard by which I will judge the game, so the verdict remains positive.
I have mostly been playing my Dark Blast/Thermal Radiation Corruptor. Welcome to the life of a class other than the Mastermind and Stalker.
[World of Warcraft] Patch Day for WoW, normally this would’nt be so bad. I open up the game, log in, it gets me to a patch downloader… wait what’s this…”there was a problem with (insert text here) file, reinstall World of Warcraft and seek help from Customer Service if the problem persists” So, uninstall, click.
Now I try to reinstall it, should be easy right? Wrong, I get to disk 3, and get stuck on Installing “patch.MPQ”, I canceled, tried again, same result. It’s been going for about an hour now… guess that’s it for WoW tonight….
