Out of 100 people who hate Bartle…

- 20 probably shouldn’t be allowed on the human section of the internet.
- 10 miss his points. Completely and repeatedly.
- 15 corner themselves with their own arguments.
- 5 point at those cornered guys and laugh.
- 30 have arguments which basically reduce to “I don’t like you dissin’ my game”
- 10 think he’s an old fart/academic/smartypants therefore he’s unable to have real opinions of real value.
- 5 think he can’t comment on MMOs because he really hasn’t put in 200 hours in “Barbie Genital Herpes World Online: Arena”
- 3 read, and don’t post, when they probably should.
- 2 guys actually prove him wrong here and there. And Bartle loves it.

You need a flashlight, or are you OK in there?

    The second one was better.

Yea but the Barbie version is just a clone of the Paris Hilton version, which totally came first.

    Fancythebard said it best :)

I don’t hate Bartle, I just think he’s out of touch and completely irrelevant to modern gaming. It’s like someone who used to row around in a pond being considered an expert on deep sea sailing. It just isn’t applicable experience.

I hate people who think he’s the gaming equivalent of Moses carrying around the Ten Commandments. He isn’t. He’s just a random old guy who used to be involved in text-based roleplaying. No more qualified to rant about the MMO industry than anyone who worked in gaming back in the day.

Wow, and with your blind generalizations you just marked yourself as worse than any of the 100 you name.

Those descriptions actually seemed pretty specific, Graktar. =P
