Corrupted Blood

[World of Warcraft] Word was running rampant through the streets, the plague was here! People were falling dead everywhere and nobody could stop it. Finally, a live event from Blizzard. What a treat!

Oh wait, never mind:

Beginning at 4:00 AM PDT on 9/17 we will be issuing rolling restarts to all realms to apply a hotfix. We expect this to resolve several issues:

Hakkar’s spell Corrupted Blood can no longer exist outside of Zul’Gurub

Turns out Hunter pets would get infected in ZG and they would dismiss them only to resummon in town. Personally, I think this was cool.

Bah.

Update: It appears that the hotfix remedy concocted to combat the recent Azerothian outbreak has not yielded desired results. At this time, our medical staff is continuing to develop an effective cure. We look forward to ensuring the health and vitality of the citizens of Azeroth in the near future.

I own this little MMO gaming blog but I hardly ever write on it any more. I'm more of a bloglord or something. Thankfully I have several minions to keep things rolling along.

  1. Didn’t this use to happen with the self destruct spell? I believe it’s a spell cast from an enemy in MC, perhaps. Anyways, the same thing would happen, except this one would basically make their pet explode and damage anyone around it. I actually have a video saved of someone going into the AH with their pet cursed with this spell and killing everyone in the AH, though it’s not on this PC.

  2. It’s indeed a ‘debuff’ you get from Baron Geddon in MC. After you’re debuffed with it you’ve got something around 6 or 7 sec’s to escape and explode in a save spot without wiping half of the raid. If a hunter’s pet gets to be “the bomb” the hunter can dismiss it and the debuff would stay. Take two or three hunter, one AH full of ppl from lvl 5 to 60 and the ranged AOE explosion from Geddon right in the middle of them all. Do the math :D Looks nice from outside.
