The Lukewarm Crusade: Day 2

wow[World of Warcraft] We revisited our Blood Elves last night with more problems. At first, the server was offline for some urgent rolling restarts. After the server appeared to be back online, it still kicked us out over and over. Finally we were able to get back on, but there was a lot of issues. Things like looting mobs and talking to quest NPCs took quite a bit of time to complete. We got disconnected a few times but it seemed like after about 30 minutes things settled down.

We did several quests, fighting a nice variety of new mobs. One quest gave us a 4 slot bag as a reward which was really nice. We did a quest that sent us into Falthrien Academy. I really enjoyed that place because it reminded me so much of some of the structures in Asheron’s Call 2. It was a sort of homecoming in a way.

We spent some time talking to my brother, who took time out from his quest for 70 (*level 68 today). My wife found herself with a player that randomly chose her as his object of affection for a while. Eventually he told her he was 15 (almost 16!) and when she told him that she graduated from high school when he was born, he decided the most appropriate response was to say “Let’s have sex!” and he took off his clothes and started dancing. Good times. We logged out at level 5.

* My brother wanted to make it clear that he is not powerleveling like the French dude. He is doing it the old fashioned way, by playing all day and all night.

I own this little MMO gaming blog but I hardly ever write on it any more. I'm more of a bloglord or something. Thankfully I have several minions to keep things rolling along.

When you break down barriers to play, anyone can just cross on over.

On a serious note just make use of the /ignore command quite often when dealing with the underage and retarded. There are a lot of decent players in the game who are not digusting or gross. The problem is that the bad players seem to gather around the low level zones with the most traffic. Most likely it provides them with the largest audience for their antics. At the moment the new starting zones are probably a prime target for them.

  3. Contrary to popular belief, there are in fact a majority of players who are asshats online. Just like the PA comic a few years back:

Anonymity + Normal Person = “Shitcock”

That’s why it’s best to insulate yourself by joining a small to medium close knit guild that matches your wants/needs. Anything too large and people will wrangle that anonymous whip around your neck the first chance they get.

That’s how I got my wife to date me way back when! Ah the memories, the love, the restraining order.
