Quote of the Week

I know people for whom the sum total of the “game industry” is Angry Birds, Madden, and Call of Duty. These are not vile “dudebros” … they’re just people who can literally play like three games all year and feel like that was a good year. They’ve got a game to play with their friends, a game to play by themselves, and something to do in line at the Butt Store or whatever. As a point of comparison, I have been installing a game while typing this paragraph.

  1. The guy still might be a ‘dudebro’ once he gets online. I used to work with a guy who was a bit like that — liked games, didn’t play many, had regular CoD sessions with his clan. And he was a nice enough guy, but when he talked about his clan it was pretty clear that swearing, smack talk, etc were all part of the fun for them.

  2. I just learned a new word. And, thanks to urban dictionary, more detailed definitions than I would have ever hoped for (and needed. But still, appreciated. Really. Especially the part about the *beeeep*)
