Sure it’s a working title code name, but it what does it imply?
His new focus, post-pitching, will be to oversee the development of a still-unnamed and shrouded-in-mystery massively multiplayer role-playing game (MMORPG) that goes by the working title Copernicus.
More fun:
…the game is based on a new IP that he says will include deliberate and strategically planned brand extensions into film, TV, books, comics, and action figure iterations.
Oh nevermind, Inhibitor already figured it all out.

A belated Happy New Year from all of us here at KTR. I spent New Year’s Eve playing World of Warcraft with my awesome wife by my side. Here are our new Night Elf Druids during the fireworks. Enjoy!

UPDATE: Credit given almost immediately, thanks!
If you are going to take something, Massively, at least give the originator some credit. Asking for permission first is also a nice idea.

As I take a moment to step away from my yet-again broken snow blower only to find that the water heater is no longer working (I *really* needed a shower after shoveling the driveway), I wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. If you celebrate a different holiday, enjoy that as well.
In the meantime, check out the Zubon interview at WorldIV.
Safe travels everyone!

My lovely wife did something that I have yet to do. Well, make that two things. She reached level 70 in World of Warcraft *and* she had a cake made to honor the achievement. Not bad for someone that isn’t your typical gamer. Me? I only finally reached level 40, bought my mount and then moved on to the Lord of the Rings Online. So send her some cheer, the cake was delicious (yes that is a picture of the actual cake). Congratulations!
Meanwhile in Lord of the Rings Online, I got a pony. Not so exciting after the cake and all that.

The results are in. For the second year in a row, we have won! Never mind the fact that we are almost completely alone in the category, we are the best! What a wonderful holiday treat, I’m taking the whole staff out for drinks. Thanks, Ryan!

Turbine has wrapped up some holiday presents for players of Lord of the Rings Online. Current players subscribed at the normal $14.99 per month have the option to sign up for $9.99 per month if they pay via 3 month chunks at $29.97, not a bad deal if you are enjoying the game and missed out on the Founder’s pricing plans.
Speaking of Founders, Turbine has put a horse under the tree. This is a special horse to be used by level 25 and higher players. The normal horse was not available until 35, so this is a nice step up. Currently, it is only available to Founders and Lifetime account holders. I’d like to see it offered to all players and perhaps it will down the road. Since I have a Founder account and I’m almost level 22 right now, this is a perfect present for my Hobbit. Naturally, the level 25 horse is slower than the level 35 horse – but it’s got to be better than running everywhere.
More details can be found here and here.

Sometimes, character customization lets people go a little too far.

There comes a time when the costs of running a site become overwhelming and so you turn to your loyal readers to ask for their support. If your readers like what you do, they will frequently help keep things running smoothly. They appreciate what you do and want to keep it going. That time has come. No, not for us here at KTR.
My good friend Brent over at VirginWorlds has offered up some memberships to help support his site. If you enjoy the many services he provides, I encourage you to consider joining up over there. From the latest MMO news and articles to a large collection of podcasts and enough links to make even me cry – nobody does it better than Brent.
