Lord of the… Flings?

My wife and I are really, really enjoying this game.   However, I have reached that point in every steamy new MMO relationship, where I start to Google information, re-read old reviews, and generally preview whats in store for us around the next level or the next 10-20 levels.

What I’ve read, scares me a little…

Rather be farming Primals

Friday night is normally my nice relax at home night, although tonight I’d planned to farm some materials for some enchants for some new gear I’d aquired. However, instead I took my kids to get their Harry Potter book at the local Borders. At least, that was my intention. Despite filling in a pre-registration form that asked for far more info than I’d ever seen for a book weeks ago, I was turned away tonight. We stood in an hour long line outside of the store only to be told our names (and phone number, which they could have used to tell us this) had been moved to a “backup hold waiting list”, whatever that might be, and that we could come in Sunday and get a book. If they had any left. Apparently “reservations” don’t mean what they used to. Came home and ordered it off Amazon like I should have in the first place.

Bad things happen when I leave WoW. Duly noted.

GuildCafe

So, I joined Guild Cafe and made a profile. Go check it out and add me to your friends list.

The site is pretty cool, lots of nice features, but it feels like it is still missing some stuff. I’m not surprised to see someone trying to combine myspace and MMORPGs, but I haven’t seen anyone doing it *right* yet. Still though, Guildcafe has a nice start. Let’s see how it turns out.

Delving into the black abyss

I never ask a man what his business is, for it never interests me. What I ask him about are his thoughts and dreams.
H.P.Lovecraft

MMOs based on a literary IPs: Turbine have done it with the generally well received Lord of the Rings (Chicken Play edition ™) and Funcom are in the beta test of their game that is based on and inspired by the chronicles of a certain Conan T. Barbarian esq. by Robert E. Howard. (Nitpickers amongst you may be feeling the need to point out that he was never referred to by Howard as Conan The Barbarian. I know!) Personally, I’m looking forward to Age of Conan a lot although I’m not entirely sure when I’m actually going to have a machine capable of rendering the lands of Hyboria in all their sumptuous glory. What I’m surprised about is that there hasn’t yet been an announcement of an MMO based on the Lovecraft’s Cthulhu mythos.
