Solo Priest is Sad Priest

wow[World of Warcraft] When I last left my guildmates, the group I was in continued to play together that night and it appears they got to level 9. I logged out at level 6.

Therefore, I’ve been playing a little catch up by fighting solo. I managed to get to level 8 over the past few days, but it is not fun by myself. I really prefer a group. I have a few quests that I can’t solo. I wish WoW had the LFG tool that DDO has. It is pretty sweet really. You go into your quest panel and find a quest you want to do. In that panel is a looking for group toggle. Basically it tries to find a group that wants to do the same quest you do. WoW could really use this. Instead you need to spam the chat channels or stand around near the quest area and hope someone comes along.

Level 8 and no PvP combat yet. Although a high level gnome was following me around for a while.

Vacation Cut Short, Film at 11

wow[World of Warcraft] I caught wind of Kwip and the gang over at NeenerNeener.Net rerolling on a PVP server in WoW and I thought I’d give it a shot too. I came home from work and logged in only to find my account had expired today. So I reactivated (gasp!).

I managed to grab my name (Ethic) and rolled up an undead priest. Since Kwip was trying a tauren, I ran my ghostly form (dead undead?) over to the tauren beginner area and paid my dues to the spirit resurrection thing-a-ma-creature. I soon joined up with the gang and we created a guild. A party of 4 was formed and off we went.

Ethical Holiday

Heya, this is Ethic just letting everyone know that a few things have dragged me away from the gaming world lately and guess what? I’m not finding myself wishing I was playing an MMO very much anymore. There is nothing to draw me back right now. You could say that real life has grown more interesting lately. Anyway, this site will continue as there are several other wonderful writers here – you just won’t hear from me that often for a while.

I’ve grown disenchanted by the state of MMOs right now and have cancelled all my active accounts. As always, you can still reach me via email – and feel free to do so. I’m just going to sit back and read some of the other guys here and spend more time with my family right now. See you all around!

EVE China Sets World Record

EVE[EVE Online] I just read this over on the EVE forums. In just one day (granted it is open beta) China surpassed all previous concurrent records for EVE Online. The previous record was around 26,000 people playing in a single gameworld.

CCP Games, the game’s Icelandic developer, today announced that more than 30,000 users were concurrently playing in a single gameworld, which it claims is a new world record. In the first day, more than 200,000 people registered for the game. The Chinese version of the game is run by Optic Communications and runs independently of the Western edition of EVE Online.

June 14 Update: 33,000 PCU (Peak Concurrent Users) and now up to more than 360,000 registrations.

Guild Grows By 400%!

gw[Guild Wars] Our guild in Guild Wars is growing at Blizzard-like speeds, 400% in just a week. Fine, we have 4 people now. If you want to join us, in Prophecies or Factions, send me an email telling me your character name and I will invite you, or leave it in the comments if you prefer. You do not need to be online in order to be invited.

We have characters in many levels and in both games. If you just want to goof off and aren’t concerned about levels, come join us. We only want to have fun and don’t care about XP or who wins a PvP battle. We will be buying a cape soon and when we can afford it we will get a hall too.

Guild Wars – One More Time For Fun

gw[Guild Wars] In my neverending quest to find something fun to do in my spare time, I have joined up with two fellow bloggers to create a new guild in Guild Wars. Hopefully we can be stupid and have fun and not become slaves to the grind.

The guild we started is called: Bold Legion of Geeks [BLOG]. My character is “Brother Ethic”. We are starting out fresh and are looking to have fun. If you want to join, find us or leave a comment here. It costs 100 gold to invite each person (is there a limit?) and my funds are somewhat limited so please be patient.

For now this is the original Guild Wars, not Factions. Perhaps we will expand into Factions if we are having too much fun (I do own it and it already). If you already play and are rich and want to donate to the “buy BLOG a hall fund”, feel free. Otherwise, say hello next time you see one of us. Or join us! One of us! One of us!

A Fond Farewell

Three of the KTR staff are leaving us for greener pastures and I’d like to wish them well on their quest. They are also welcome back at any time down the road should they desire to pick up the KTR flag again.

Safe travels to lufia22, ringthree and Zxyrox! I have enjoyed working with you guys and please stay in touch. Again, if you ever want to return just let me know.

Two Years Later…

I just realized it has been two years since I started this site. Two years. I’m honestly shocked. I had my first year at Blogger.com and then I moved to my own place (where 7 other people signed up to write). It’s been another whole year now since the move.

I figured it might be a good time to take a look at some stats because numbers are fun, OK?

In the last year we have had 285,661 people visit the site. In that same time there were 1,251,296 hits. And for data we transferred 13,290,855 KBytes. In the last month, we averaged 1,323 visitors per day.

Now, I don’t know what all these numbers mean, but they look big enough to me. I’m just glad my hosting fees have not gone up.

Thanks to everyone that spends a little time here and I hope we have provided a little entertainment for you. Here’s looking to two more years!

Easy Come Easy Go

EVE[EVE Online] I decided to leave my corp out in 0.0 for various reasons, none of which involve the corp itself. So, I posted a small goodbye (for now) post on the corp forum and before I knew it I couldn’t even access the forums any more. Talk about security.

I was still technically in the corp but they cut me out of the forums and my chance to read all the “sad farewells” and “fly safes” and “you’ll be backs” and of course the “can I have your stuffs?” was gone. *sniff* Oh well, that’s the sort of thing that 0.0 life gives you. Better to be safe than sorry (unlike another big alliance that I used to belong to and I can still read their forum to this day).
