3 Bosses, 2 Tanks, 1 Victory.

[Final Fantasy XI] Just completed chapter 2 of Chains of Promathia. The battle, which involves defeating 3 faceless baddies, is said by some to be one of the toughest battles in the game.

Beat it on the first try… I am so uber.

Well, not exactly on the first try but only because we did a dry run first to test my strategy.

I have come to believe that every single CoP mission boss has a weakness and SE designed it this way.

The strategy of body aggroing the three bosses with the paladin and having the white mage spam cures on the main tank while the rest of the group deals with one at a time works wonders.

The Yellow Liquid is fantastic for this fight especially for ninja tanks, as it locks the boss into one of its four forms for about a minute. Get it on the polearm form of the boss and the attacks are so slow that you wont have a problem with it at all. The paladin with the white mage can take anything as long as they have MP.

I even screwed up and threw the Yellow Liquid on one while it was in warrior form. This is a bad idea because it attacks so fast.

From what I saw they had four forms. No job (great except for transmogrification), Polearm (Dragoon), Staff (Black Mage) and Sword (Warrior). Try to lock it on Polearm. Don’t lock it on Sword >.< Also, dont let the main tank engage the last mob before the second one is dead. If they do that then they can get hate from the white mage that is still curing the main tank. I would save all your special attacks for the second mob. ringthree

New Jug Pets for Beastmasters

[Final Fantasy XI] The information from the October update has been slow in coming but here is some more.

Two of the new pets that will become available for the beastmaster ability “Call Beast” in the October version update.

Exciting!

Thieved from the FFXI Developers webpage.

Yeah, I think this update may be just a hold over until we can get some more information on the expansion. Because so far we have a quest that only level 70 fishermen can do, and jug pets. Woo… hoo…

ISO: Corporation

eve 01[EVE Online] I’ve spent the last week or two reading up on various corporations in EVE. I’ve been trying to find one that meets my ideals. Lately I’m missing out on the social aspect in game since a few people quit and a few people went off to PvP land.

I’ve got my eye on one that seems just about perfect for me. I’ll be contacting them soon to see how we mesh. One item of concern for me is that I plan to write here about things we do, so I’ll need to bring it up and see what they think about it. I am willing to keep some things out of the limelight, but being that this is a corp with all intentions of being neutral I don’t think it will be a huge issue.

Also, I’m going to have to sell some of my ships. I’m going to follow the rule, “don’t fly anything you can’t afford to replace”. I currently have a ship that is way over my head so it will need to go into mothballs for a while. I’ll sell the other ones I don’t need as I am assuming I’ll be relocating once I get “hired” by a corporation.

Let’s see, my account for EVE Online just expired. I’ll reactivate it soon as there are some things I still want to do – like venture into 0.0 space. A friend of mine stopped by tonight and asked me to help walk him through City of Heroes a little bit since he just purchased it. Thus, I have reactivated my CoH account at least temporarily. If he gets into that I’ll probably keep my account active just to hang out with him since he is moving across country. World of Warcraft is still active but I think it runs out in the beginning of October. I’ve had some good fun there lately so I’ll probably have to reactivate that as well.

Will I really have three accounts active? That’s just nuts. I don’t have the time for three games.

I like being a slippery Gnome…

[World of Warcraft] I was strolling through Stranglethorn Vale one day, minding my own business. I was making my way to Booty Bay because us Alliance, unlike Horde, don’t have another flight point in STV except in BB while Horde have GG and BB. This is quite a long journey for a wee Gnome like me to make on foot with no mount. I pass a couple of Alliance dueling on the path, which is a stupid thing to do on a PvP server, and I see an Orc run past on a wolf. He stops next to the duelers and I think he’s going to gank them, so I continue on running minding my own business. What do you know? He doesn’t kill them and instead keeps running down the path in the direction I’m going.

So I’m thinking, “Ok, he must be a nice Orc.” Of course, I hear the “roar” of him dismount and obviously I expect the worse. He’s a warrior, so I wait for him to charge and stun me so I can blink out of it. He does, just like any warrior would do. So after blinking I turn and use polymorph and have to use my Gnome racial to get out of his hamstring. I was expecting him to intercept me (in-combat charge), but maybe he was a bit cocky. Needless to say, even though he was a skull to me (he ended up being a level 50 something), he was off eating some grass as a sheep while I continued my stroll.

A few seconds later he tries again. The same exact thing happens. I continue skipping down the path some more until he then tries another time but this time I ran into a 60 Alliance mage. Yep, the warrior got owned. Then a level 60 Orc warrior attacked followed up by a lower level shaman, who earth shocked me, but I cast frost nova on him and ran away. Instead of chasing me, he decides to help the 60 Warrior try and kill the 60 mage. I turn around once I see that he’s not chasing me and by the time I catch back up, the mage was already starting to kill the Shaman, so I added my scorch and fireblast in for the finishing blow.

Did I mention the level 60 mage was a Gnome as well? Yep…being a slippery Gnome rocks. Being a slippery Gnome mage rocks even more. Eat grass you stupid sheep! Why would you want to harm little ‘ol me anyways? I’m just as cute as can be!
