[EVE Online] I recently accepted the offer from my new corporation, which put me at war. The alliance we belong to had another corporation declare war upon us. This allows them to attack us anywhere in the game, even in Empire (normally pretty safe). Concord will not intervene. The only safe spots are when you are docked in a station.
Being 30 jumps away from our 0.0 station, I decided I should fly out there to save a jumpclone. The process to fly from one place to another used to be as simple as setting the destination and clicking the autopilot button. Now, I need to be on the alert all the time.

[EVE Online] I have decided to join up with a corporation thanks to a good friend in EVE. Now I find myself on the verge of an all-out war. The alliance the corp belongs to is at war, so we are at war. I have not yet accepted the offer from the corp, I am still relatively safe.
A whole new portion of the game is opening before my eyes. How can I get out to the somewhat safe space controlled by my new corp? I could fly out as close as possible in Empire and then accept the offer – flying the final distance in a fast ship. Another option is that I could get an escort.

[Everquest 2] Since I was still having video issues, I decided to switch to my second computer which has an FX5900 in it. Got the game copied over and fired it up. No problems at all, wonderful.
I chose a Kerran (which is like a tiger/human). The sonicvision ability in this race was used quite a bit this time, as it was night time. It made it very easy to spot the bad guys. This is the same vision as the Ratonga had.

[Everquest 2] These impressions that I am getting of the classes are not really fair, as I assume the first 6 levels are not the defining levels for the class, but given that assumption – I will continue my observations and opinions.
Going back to the scout for a minute, I’m really bummed that the trial did not get me into any of the rogue type of abilities, but then I realized it is a scout and not a rogue at this time. Understanding that, perhaps I did not give scout a fair chance. The ability to track things was actually very cool (pull down menu shows things in the area, select one and a pathway appears before you) and I look forward to trying the class again in the next update.

[Everquest 2] I had to restart my scout as I just could not stand the high elf character model. I rerolled as a Ratonga, which is a rat-type of small humanoid character.
Ratongas have sonic vision. I did not really see any benefit to this, but I only tried it a little bit. Not sure how that is supposed to work. I’m curious to understand the point of these skills.
I had a lot of graphics problems, locking up on various occasions. Rolling back my drivers helped with that, but as a side effect I lost the red text outline on mob names which designates they will attack if you get near. Kind of sucked to lose that. I suppose I will do a full uninstall of my drivers and start over to see if it helps.

[EVE Online] The latest issue of E:ON magazine had a little blurb on page 9, but what an exciting blurb it is – at least to me.
Announced at the Fanfest back in October was CCP’s intention to release a mobile edition of EVE. Currently the product of a joint research project between CCP and Reykjavik University, a limited prototype client is already running on GSM phones, which allow users to log into the game, access characters, set skill training and manage items.
“EVE is a game where you can do a lot of things without having full 3D,” says Hilmar Petursson, CCP’s CEO. “We are focusing on everything that can be done in-station and hopefully players will also be able to chat and monitor chat channels, although this is one of the more difficult parts to implement.”
“It’s coming along,” he adds, “but there are a lot of commercial and security issues to work out.”
What a cool idea and I can’t wait to try it out.

[Everquest 2] Trial of the Isle is a free trial introduction to Everquest 2. It is free to play so why not go get it. You should at least get a taste of what you are missing, then you can rest easier at night with your gaming decisions. I’m not sure how long they are going to leave this up, but they should make it a permanent feature.
Honestly, I’ve never been a fan of Everquest. I tried it and did not like it. I was an Asheron’s Call boy instead, and I never looked back. I guess that is why I didn’t give EQ2 much of a chance. Besides, everything I read about it said it would be too grindy and too group-centric for me. Well, I’ll find out.

[Dungeons & Dragons Online] A good while back I wrote down a small story about a quest, rather uninspired really, but I wanted to kind of show what one quest was like in DDO. This was from the Alpha testing phase and it was one of the first quests you did in the game. This particular quest is still in the game, somewhat revised, so don’t read if you are avoiding spoilers (not like this is much of a spoiler really).
If you read a line that begins “I notice” or “I hear” something, that is likely the DM text I read on my screen.

[Dungeons & Dragons Online] The NDA for D&D Online has been lifted so anyone in it can start blabbing. I suggest you start by reading here. Follow that up by reading here. Check out Tobold’s take here.
I’m not sure if I want to write anything about my experiences, but I will say this: Turbine made this? Not bad. Regardless, I don’t see me playing it any time soon. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice … you can’t get fooled again.

[World of Warcraft] I figured I’d pop in to WoW for a little chat with my buddies tonight. 700 person queue, FU Blizzard.
So I figured I’d just pop into one of the other servers I have alts on and just do a little adventuring. 566 queue, 742 queue, 581 queue, on and on and on. Not a single server I can get on. FU Blizzard.
I sort the servers by population. All full except for about 20 PvP worlds that say medium. Nice planning, FU Blizzard.
What kind of a bullcrap operation they running over there? FU Blizzard.
I’m done. Where’s that Everquest II box?
